Yankee Doodle Boy: A Young Soldier’s Adventures in the American Revolution as Told by Himself

Joseph Plumb Martin enlisted in the Continental Army in 1776, at fifteen years of age. Born in western Massachusetts, he settled in Maine to become a carpenter after the war ended. His account of his service was originally published in 1830.
